DEADLINE EXTENDED FROM APRIL 1 TO JUNE 1, 2020: FORM 700 “2019 ANNUAL STATEMENT”

Due to the current COVID-19 public health emergency, on March 26, 2020, the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) announced a 60-day extension until June 1, 2020 for those required to file a 2019 annual Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700). Annual Form 700s will be due no later than June 1, 2020. The extension applies to all officials who are required to file in April pursuant to FPPC Regulations 18723 and 18730. Filers are encouraged to submit Form 700 annual statements online and at any time prior to June 1, 2020. The Clerk’s Office will issue letters to all affected filers confirming the June 1, 2020 extended filing date.

Filings must be completed when assuming or leaving office and annually.
  • The annual process starts in January and the forms are due April 1st.
  • Assuming and leaving office forms must be filed within 30 days.
  • Penalties for late filings are $10 per day up to $100.

Officials occupying positions designated in California Government Code Section 87200 are now allowed to submit their filings electronically. Previously these filers were not allowed to e-file.

The County of Sacramento now requires employees and members of Boards & Commissions to file the Form 700 electronically through an electronic solution called eDisclosure. With this electronic filing system you can easily fill out or amend your Form 700 and quickly copy information from a prior year’s form. The system automatically checks for errors and omissions and allows you to digitally sign and electronically submit your form.
